Some projects find their way to you, and you immediately know it was meant for you. That’s how I felt when I auditioned for “In This Room…”
When it comes to books or films, I enjoy almost any genre because I appreciate the art form and the work that goes into it. However, there’s nothing better than a psychological thriller. The mystery surrounds each character. The thrill hangs on every word because you never know when something will be said that changes the story.
I remember watching “The Number 23″ starring Jim Carrey and being mesmerized by his performance. As a Jim Carrey fan, I spent many years leaving a bathroom fanning my ass, saying, “DO NOT GO IN THERE,” and many other bits from his career. So when I saw him in this film become something so different from the characters he had played before, I knew that one day I wanted to do something similar.
So when the audition manuscript for “In This Room…” landed in my lap last year, I dug in and went to town! I have to tell you, it was so much fun! This story has so many twists and turns that keep you guessing. I had a friend recently listen to it, and she said it “Felt like a theatrical performance.” That was exactly what I was going for, and I’m thankful Bradley Carter gave me the creative freedom to do just that.
